Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with care and attention
• Conduct thorough interview-based evaluations that capture the Veteran’s history and symptoms
• Perform focused physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Complete timely, clear reports and addendums that support disability decisions
• Review and interpret diagnostics relevant to each evaluation
• Maintain professional, non-treatment exam boundaries (no prescribing or treatment)
• Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure credentialing and paperwork are current

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state where you will perform exams
• Clinical background in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedics preferred
• Experience with interview-based medical evaluations and focused physical assessments
• Ability to complete high-quality medical documentation and addendums
• Own-office availability preferred for locations without a VES facility
• Willingness to work PRN and pick up shifts within a 50-mile radius of the listed city
• Able to complete required onboarding and training prior to performing exams

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in medical interviewing and gathering relevant history
• Proficient in range of motion testing and muscle strength assessment
• Experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exam processes or willingness to learn
• Strong clinical documentation and report-writing skills
• Comfortable reviewing diagnostic studies and incorporating findings into evaluations
• Professional communication skills when interacting with Veterans and administrative teams
