Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care focused on PICC management and related vascular access
• Perform timely assessments, document findings clearly, and communicate changes to the care team
• Insert, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain PICC lines following facility protocols
• Collaborate with security and facility staff to deliver patient-centered care in a secure environment
• Educate patients and facility staff on PICC care, infection prevention, and post-procedure instructions
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and follow all facility and regulatory policies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (appropriate for practicing in Pennsylvania)
• Hands-on PICC competency/experience (core requirement for this role)
• Corrections/jail experience preferred — comfortable working inside a secure facility
• Comfort with facility-specific rules (this role is inside a jail; personal devices such as cell phones are restricted in secure areas)
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and work collaboratively with security personnel

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong PICC line knowledge: insertion support, maintenance, dressing changes, and complication recognition
• Infection control and sterile technique expertise
• Clear clinical documentation and effective communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and adapt in a secure/facility-based environment
• Teamwork and professionalism when interacting with multidisciplinary and security staff
