Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy safely and competently, following ONS standards
• Provide specialized care for BMT (bone marrow transplant) and hematology patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Perform blood administration and manage transfusion-related care
• Document care thoroughly in the Meditech EMR to support continuity and safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create compassionate, patient-centered care plans
• Teach patients and families about treatment plans, side-effect management, and follow-up

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Texas or a Multi-State Compact license
• ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certification (required)
• BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in chemo/biotherapy, BMT, or hematology
• Experience with telemetry and Meditech EMR is a strong plus
• Compassionate, detail-oriented, resilient team player with excellent critical thinking

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred
• Current RN license (Texas or Multi-State Compact) and required certifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in chemo/biotherapy administration and oncology nursing practices
• Knowledge of bone marrow transplant patient care and hematology principles
• Proficient with cardiac monitoring and telemetry-based assessment
• Comfortable with blood administration and transfusion protocols
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR documentation and charting workflows
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and patient education skills
