Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms to detect changes in patient condition promptly
• Administer IV drips and critical medications safely, titrating per orders and protocols
• Perform comprehensive assessments and provide individualized critical care for ICU and ED-hold patients
• Document care accurately in Meditech and maintain clear handoffs during shift changes
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Respond quickly to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts using ACLS and BLS skills
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions with compassion
• Float across units as required, adapting to different patient populations while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• Active TX RN License ONLY (temporary licenses are not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2+ years of hospital or specialty nursing experience (ICU/telemetry preferred)
• Telemetry monitoring experience and comfort with various drips
• Meditech experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Critical care nursing principles and progressive care experience
• Proficiency with IV drips, titration, and infusion management
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and electronic charting
• Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity environments
• Ability to adapt quickly while floating across units
