Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in accordance with facility policies
• Administer medications, document patient responses, and monitor vitals with attention to detail
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans
• Perform skilled nursing procedures and assessments, escalating changes in condition promptly
• Support patient comfort and education — explain procedures, answer questions, and provide emotional support
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring support staff and communicating effectively

Qualifications

• Valid LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license — New Mexico licensure recommended
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Active clinical experience as an LPN; comfort with night-shift responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced care settings
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN diploma/certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and IV/short-assessment skills
• Excellent patient assessment and documentation practices
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy night shifts
• Clear communication with patients, families, and the clinical team
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and basic charting workflows
• Compassionate bedside manner and de-escalation skills
