Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients on the unit
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate findings clearly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following facility protocols
• Document care promptly and accurately in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate effective care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control standards

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or eligibility for licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) a plus depending on unit needs
• Comfortable with medication administration, IV therapies, and nursing assessments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Reliable, professional, and committed to high-quality patient care

Education

• LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
• RN: Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN from an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Medication administration and attention to safety and detail
• Infection prevention and standard precautions knowledge
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy shifts
• Collaborative teamwork and clear communication with patients and staff
