Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside nursing care for assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following facility policy
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings in the chart
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
- Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition to the care team
- Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity and safe transitions of care
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license appropriate for practice in New Mexico (compact license accepted if applicable)
- Minimum clinical experience in acute care settings preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass facility onboarding checks
- Strong clinical judgment, reliable attendance, and readiness to work 12+ hour day shifts
Education
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid assessment and critical thinking skills for direct patient care
- Medication administration and IV/line management for licensed scope
- Skilled charting and documentation with attention to detail
- Ability to work well in interdisciplinary teams and communicate clearly
- Familiarity with acute care workflows and safety protocols
