Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy to address mental health needs
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, custody staff and other clinicians to coordinate care
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and meet regulatory and facility requirements
• Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings and discharge/reentry planning
• Use trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approaches to engage patients and de-escalate crises
• Support program development and quality improvement initiatives in the mental health unit

Qualifications

• Current California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential (required)
• Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program (required for LCSW)
• Experience providing mental health services — correctional or forensic experience is a strong plus
• Demonstrated skills in assessment, treatment planning and crisis intervention
• Comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a structured facility setting
• Ability to obtain and maintain any facility-specific clearances or background checks

Education

• Master of Social Work (MSW) required
• Active California LCSW licensure required
