Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry continuously to detect and respond to dysrhythmias promptly
• Provide high-quality medical-surgical and post-surgical care to MS/Tele patients (including appy/chole cases)
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and collaborate with RT and Pharmacy (24/7 support) for safe patient care
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
• Participate in orientation Sim Lab and pass required competency checks to ensure unit readiness
• Float mid-shift as needed to support patient care across sites (St. Joseph's Westgate)
• Work weekends and holidays in rotation, supporting continuity of care for patients and team members

Qualifications

• Active RN license for Arizona (must be valid at time of submittal)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (Telemetry/Medical-Surgical experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Valid Driver's License required at time of submittal
• Must pass the dysrhythmia exam (minimum 80% within two attempts) prior to contract signing
• Pass/fail Sim Lab required on Day 1 of orientation
• Must not have been employed (FT/PT/PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year; radius rule applies (50 miles)

Education

• Nursing degree required (BSN not required for this role)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing and post-operative care
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, prioritize tasks, and manage acute patient needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary staff (RT, Pharmacy, IV team)
• Comfort with floating and adapting to workflow changes mid-shift
