Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures and related imaging studies to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Prepare and position patients with care and clear instructions to ensure accurate results and reduce anxiety
• Operate CT and imaging equipment, selecting appropriate protocols and imaging parameters
• Administer contrast media safely and start/maintain IV access when required
• Practice radiation safety and aseptic technique at all times to protect patients and staff
• Assist with radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical and portable exams when assigned
• Corroborate clinical history and document pertinent information for radiologist interpretation
• Initiate basic life support when necessary and follow universal precautions and patient identification protocols
• Provide patient education, transport assistance, and input on inventory and equipment needs
• Mentor students and partners, sharing practical knowledge and best practices

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program (required)
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience (required)
• ARRT Radiography registration (required)
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration (required)
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation (required for Illinois practice)
• Approved CPR or BLS certification (required)
• Ability to participate in on-call, holiday and weekend rotations and to flex hours/overtime as needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of CT procedures and diagnostic imaging techniques
• Proficient in contrast administration and IV access
• Solid understanding of radiation safety and aseptic technique
• Skilled in patient positioning, immobilization, and patient-centered communication
• Experience operating imaging equipment, fluoroscopy and portable radiography
• Comfortable providing patient education and working in fast-paced clinical settings
• Familiarity with inventory/supply management and basic equipment troubleshooting
• Experience mentoring students and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
