Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside nursing care for medical/surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms closely, responding promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per protocols
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly in the chart
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to optimize care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications and discharge plans
• Participate in unit quality improvement and safety initiatives to keep patients safe

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid and in good standing)
• Current BLS required
• Current ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to pass License/Certificate Verification, Trinity skills and specialty competency testing
• Must meet personal health requirements including vaccinations, fit test and drug screen

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med/surg and telemetry assessment skills and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Proficient in medication administration and IV therapy management
• Skilled at electronic health record documentation and handoff communication
• Excellent critical thinking and prioritization in a fast-paced night environment
• Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Infection control practices and patient safety awareness
