Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate Med-Surg nursing care for neuro patients, including NIH and stroke assessments
• Perform neuro-focused assessments and promptly communicate changes in condition
• Manage complex care tasks like trach care, feeding tube management and seizure monitoring
• Safely operate and troubleshoot equipment such as IV pumps and seizure monitors
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR to support continuity and quality
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care and improve outcomes
• Educate patients and families about condition-specific care and discharge needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential (candidates without RN credential will not be considered)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience; strong Med-Surg background required
• ACLS and additional neuro experience preferred
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• NIH/stroke assessments and neuro assessment expertise
• Med-Surg nursing fundamentals and critical thinking
• Trach and feeding tube care
• IV pump management and medication administration
• Seizure monitoring and rapid response to changes in neuro status
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR and accurate clinical documentation
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient advocacy skills
