Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor telemetry patients continuously, interpreting rhythms and responding appropriately
• Administer medications and manage medication drips safely and accurately
• Care for post-procedure patients including heart cath recovery and those with central lines
• Maintain and troubleshoot IV pumps, chest tubes and other unit equipment
• Document patient care clearly and efficiently using Meditech
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including RNs and PCTs, to deliver coordinated care
• Provide patient and family education with empathy and clear communication
• Actively contribute to a positive patient experience through critical thinking and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact eligible recommended)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, ideally in telemetry, Med-Surg or PCU
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and caring for patients post cardiac cath preferred
• Comfortable managing central lines, medication drips, IV pumps and chest tubes
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Ability to float to other units and work every other weekend as scheduled

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry rhythm recognition and interpretation skills
• Medication drip management and infusion pump competency
• Familiarity with post–cardiac procedure recovery care
• Skilled in IV line and chest tube care
• Excellent clinical documentation skills in Meditech
• Solid critical thinking, prioritization and teamwork abilities
• Patient-centered communication and education skills
