Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and act promptly on rhythm changes to keep patients safe
• Provide skilled nursing care for telemetry patients, including heart cath recovery
• Manage IV therapy, medication drips, central lines, chest tubes, and PCA/IV pumps with confidence
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Document care accurately in Meditech and support smooth transitions of care
• Deliver patient- and family-centered education and emotional support during recovery

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in the assignment state
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience, telemetry or acute care preferred
• Comfort with Meditech electronic medical record is a plus
• Experience caring for heart cath recovery patients and managing medication drips
• Positive attitude, strong critical thinking, and ability to work independently

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• IV therapy, PCA and IV pump operation, and medication drip management
• Care of central lines and chest tubes
• Post-heart cath recovery procedures and monitoring
• Proficient documentation in Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Ability to manage patient ratios around 1:6 and 1:4 for heart cath patients
• Strong prioritization and communication skills in a busy unit
• Team-oriented mindset with focus on patient safety and quality
