Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor telemetry patients, interpreting cardiac rhythms and notifying providers of changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders and protocols
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document timely, clear notes in the electronic chart
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and participate in code and rapid response processes
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatments, and discharge instructions with empathy
• Maintain unit safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance at all times
• Support unit flow by triaging admissions, discharges, and patient transitions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kansas (or compact/multi-state RN license as accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience (direct patient care experience on telemetry-focused units)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or must obtain per facility requirements
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screen
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
• Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to unit-specific scheduling

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessment
• Comfortable using common EHR systems for documentation and medications
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization in high-acuity situations
• Effective teamwork, patient education, and bedside manner
