Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; typically 3 shifts per week with 2 weekends required per 4-week schedule (night shift)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, compassionate Med/Surg and trauma nursing care to adult patients
- Perform IV insertions and start infusions safely and confidently
- Monitor telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry and respond to changes in condition
- Manage nasogastric tubes, chest tubes, and surgical drains with competence and care
- Deliver basic wound care and escalate concerns promptly to the care team
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech and participate in bedside shift report
- Prioritize patient needs in a busy environment and multitask while maintaining patient safety
- Collaborate proactively with physicians, techs, and unit staff to ensure seamless care transitions
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Comfortable with IV insertion, wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains
- Experience with nasogastric and chest tube care and telemetry monitoring
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and provide bedside shift reports
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Meditech documentation
- Familiarity with IV pumps, feeding pumps, PCA pumps, and EKG machines
- Experience using continuous pulse oximetry, SCDs, and bladder scanner
- Comfortable with mobile communication technology used on unit
- Strong patient prioritization, assessment, and time management skills
- Effective bedside communication and teamwork skills
