Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (overnight), rotating schedule with every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate post-op orthopedic nursing care, ensuring patients recover safely and comfortably
- Perform dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and wound vac maintenance with attention to detail
- Manage Foley catheters and NG tubes skillfully to prevent complications
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and clinical status using Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Assist with patient mobility and use of specialized equipment (lifts, walkers, CPM) to promote safe ambulation
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, mobility, and wound management
Qualifications
- Active NC RN license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (as listed)
- Orthopedic nursing experience or strong Med-Surg background preferred
- Hospital experience preferred; ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
- Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and post-operative orthopedic care skills
- Wound care, dressing changes, and wound vac familiarity
- Foley catheter and NG tube management
- Comfortable using mobility equipment and patient lifts (Sara Stedy, Maxi Move, etc.)
- Proficient documentation skills in Cerner EMR
- Team-player mentality, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and patient-centered communication
