Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; typically 3x12-hour shifts per week, includes 3 weekend shifts per rotation and required on-call coverage (night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert care for the laboring patient from admission through delivery, ensuring safety and comfort
- Perform immediate newborn care after delivery, including initial assessment and stabilization
- Circulate and recover cesarean section patients, collaborating closely with the surgical team
- Monitor fetal status and intervene appropriately using AWHONN/CEFM standards
- Document care accurately and timely using CPN and Meditach electronic systems
- Serve as a clear communicator with families and the interdisciplinary team, supporting shared decision making
- Maintain unit safety and infection control standards while delivering compassionate care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state license required)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (must have)
- Certifications required: AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM, NRP, ACLS, and BLS
- Comfortable with cesarean circulation/recovery and immediate newborn care
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems such as CPN and Meditach
- Ability to work rotating nights, weekends, and participate in call rotations
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of labor and delivery nursing best practices and maternal/newborn physiology
- Skill in fetal monitoring and interpretation consistent with CEFM/AWHONN standards
- Proficiency in immediate newborn assessment and resuscitation (NRP)
- Competence in perioperative support for C-sections and postpartum recovery care
- Excellent clinical documentation skills using electronic health record systems
- Teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced unit
