Shift Type: Rotating nights to meet department needs, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (night shift); schedule includes every-other-weekend coverage and may rotate across all days as-needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for a high-volume ED (supporting trauma, stroke, and critical cardiac monitoring cases)
- Perform thorough patient assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
- Use Cerner documentation to accurately record assessments, interventions, and patient updates
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and support techs to ensure smooth patient flow
- Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to promote best practices and a learning culture
- Deliver excellent patient experience using AIDET and clear communication throughout the visit
- Operate unit equipment confidently, including Baxter pumps and GE monitors, while maintaining safety standards
- Adapt to dynamic patient ratios and unit needs while maintaining compassionate care
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, or comparable high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrated teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide feedback in real time
- Comfortable floating to all sections within the ED and working every-other-weekend as scheduled
- Previous HCA experience is a plus
Education
- Active RN license required; ADN or BSN in Nursing preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong emergency nursing skills: trauma care, stroke care, and cardiac monitoring
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic documentation
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients and variable patient ratios
- Excellent communication, situational awareness, and patient experience focus
- Team-oriented mindset with coaching and mentoring capabilities
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting unit needs and fast-paced ED workflows
