Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC; schedule includes every other weekend and floating to other units

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a telemetry/PCU unit
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and report changes promptly
- Administer medications including titratable drips accurately and document per policy
- Manage and care for central lines and assist with heart cath recovery patients
- Operate and troubleshoot IV pumps, chest tubes, and other unit equipment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in Meditech and communicate handoffs effectively
- Provide patient education and emotional support while promoting a positive patient experience
Qualifications
- Current RN license (Kansas license or Compact RN license preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (telemetry/medical-surgical or PCU experience strongly preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certification (required)
- Hands-on experience with telemetry monitoring, medication drips, IV pumps, chest tubes, and central line care
- Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
- Comfort floating to other units and working every other weekend
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and team-oriented communication
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Medication titration and infusion pump management
- Post–cardiac cath recovery care and central line maintenance
- Chest tube management and care of various drains
- Proficient documentation in Meditech
- Ability to manage a 1:4 patient ratio while prioritizing safety
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
