Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor med-surg patients, using your clinical judgment to prioritize care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document patient care and changes in condition clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and follow individualized care plans
• Provide patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emerging clinical changes during your shift

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — title indicates RN Med/Surg role
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg clinical experience (as listed in the job posting)
• Current RN licensure applicable to practice (Texas licensure or multi-state compact may apply)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recommended — verify facility requirements with your recruiter

Knowledge & Skills

• Med-Surg clinical knowledge and comfort managing a variety of adult medical and surgical diagnoses
• Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills during 12-hour night shifts
• Accurate medication administration and documentation practices
• Effective communication and teamwork with nurses, physicians, and support staff
• Ability to adapt to facility workflows and electronic medical record charting
