Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (night shift) with weekend rotation per 6-week schedule (schedule includes weekends and holidays per staffing matrix)
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to PCU/Acute Care patients — assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions
- Initiate and manage IV starts and vascular access (CVL/arterial lines) with confidence
- Continuously monitor cardiac status using EKG/telemetry and respond to changes promptly
- Perform and support procedures such as Foley placement, wound care, and bedside interventions
- Document care thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner EMR to ensure continuity and accuracy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members — physicians, case management, pharmacy, PT/OT — during daily care rounds
- Serve as a dependable resource in fast-paced moments, triaging needs and escalating when appropriate
- Support unit staffing and coverage, including weekend rotations and team-based shift handoffs
Qualifications
- Current RN license (eligible/active in North Carolina preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN clinical experience (PCU/Acute Care, Med-Surg, ICU/Stepdown experience highly valued)
- BLS required; ACLS required to be completed prior to end of orientation
- Comfortable with telemetry/EKG monitoring, IV starts, and common acute care procedures
- Experience with Cerner or similar EMR systems
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-based care environment and adapt to changing patient acuity
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and interpretation (EKG/telemetry)
- IV therapy, CVL and arterial line familiarity
- Wound care and Foley catheter management
- Experience with IV pumps, Baxter feeding pumps, SCDs and Pyxis medication systems
- Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management
- Effective communication and teamwork in interdisciplinary rounds
