Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment for a wide range of procedures
- Set up, handle, and manage surgical instruments and equipment, including Belmont rapid infusion devices
- Assist surgeons and perioperative team members during procedures to ensure patient safety
- Support perioperative patient care from pre-op through immediate post-op, keeping patient-centered focus
- Document care and procedures accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and communicate effectively with the team
- Adapt across multiple service lines (Pediatrics, CVOR/Cardiac, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Spine, General, GYN, Endoscopy, Plastics)
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — required
- Minimum 2 years OR (operating room) experience — required
- Able to function across multiple service lines — required
- Pediatrics and CVOR/Cardiac experience — preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR and Belmont rapid infusion equipment — preferred
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a patient-first attitude
Education
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of perioperative procedures and sterile technique
- Comfortable supporting a broad case mix — from general to cardiac and pediatric cases
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot common OR equipment and infusion devices
- Proficient documentation practices in Meditech or similar EMR
- Excellent teamwork and ability to work with multidisciplinary perioperative teams
