Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Neuro PCU patients using evidence-based practices
• Perform focused neurological assessments and monitor telemetry and vital trends closely
• Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and update patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans in clear, supportive language
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in the medical record

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (eligible to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (PCU/Neuro experience preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS) preferred
• Demonstrated competence with telemetry monitoring and neurological assessments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Neuro-focused assessment and recognition of changes in neurological status
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• IV medication administration and infusion pump management
• Clinical prioritization, critical thinking and rapid decision-making
• Effective patient/family education and bedside communication
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
