Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the progressive care/stepdown environment
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms, responding promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient plans
• Perform comprehensive assessments and document changes in patient condition in Meditech
• Educate patients and families on condition management, discharge plans, and follow-up care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (temporary licenses not accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH stroke scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital experience and 2+ years of PCU/stepdown or telemetry specialty experience
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and progressive care patient populations
• Comfortable using Meditech documentation system preferred
• Ability to float as needed and participate in call coverage

• Telemetry and cardiac rhythm recognition
• PCU/stepdown patient management and escalation
• Proficient with Meditech or similar electronic medical records
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical settings
• Medication administration and ACLS algorithms
