Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and accurately dispense medications for hospitalized patients, ensuring safety first
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to optimize medication therapy
• Perform medication reconciliation and clinical reviews to prevent drug interactions and errors
• Manage inventory and restock automated dispensing systems to keep patient care flowing
• Participate in medication safety initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement
• Provide pharmacist-led counseling for medication administration and patient education when needed

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree preferred
• Active Pharmacist license in Florida or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience (hospital or acute care experience preferred)
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy practice, sterile compounding principles, and medication safety
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) preferred or ability to obtain per facility requirements

Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of medication dosing, interactions, and IV/IV admixture practices
• Experience with hospital pharmacy workflows and automated dispensing systems
• Excellent attention to detail and strong clinical problem-solving skills
• Clear, compassionate communication with multidisciplinary care teams
• Ability to work independently during night shifts and prioritize under pressure
