Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor Med/Surg patients with a keen eye for change in condition
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to optimize patient plans
- Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
- Provide compassionate patient and family education to support recovery
- Perform safe patient transfers, wound care, IV maintenance, and skilled nursing tasks
- Prioritize and triage tasks to maintain smooth, high-quality unit operations
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience (explicitly required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and adapting to unit workflows
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid Med/Surg clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
- Proficient documentation in electronic medical records
- Strong prioritization, critical thinking, and time management
- Patient and family education with empathy and clarity
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
