Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
• Provide high-quality emergency nursing interventions, including medication administration and advanced monitoring
• Use Cerner for complete, timely documentation to ensure seamless patient care and communication
• Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Coach and give real-time feedback to teammates to support continuous learning and strong team performance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, culturally aware care in a high-volume ED
• Maintain patient experience standards (AIDET, respectful communication, regular updates) to keep families informed
• Float across ED areas as needed while maintaining unit-specific policies and safety standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of ER experience (must-have)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications prior to start
• PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS required prior to start or on hire as specified; ENPC within 90 days of hire
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, Level II trauma / comprehensive stroke center environment
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Willingness to float within all sections of the ED

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license (Associate's degree or BSN acceptable; BSN preferred where applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner electronic documentation
• Skilled in triage, emergency assessment, and rapid decision-making
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitors
• Excellent communication and patient-experience skills (AIDET, culturally sensitive care)
• Ability to work efficiently in high-acuity, high-volume settings and adapt to changing priorities
• Mentoring and coaching skills to support colleagues and improve unit performance
