Shift Type: Rotating day shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, includes every-other-weekend coverage (scheduling meets department needs; no block scheduling)
Hours per Week: 38
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing interventions, including medication administration and advanced monitoring
- Use Cerner for complete, timely documentation to ensure seamless patient care and communication
- Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Coach and give real-time feedback to teammates to support continuous learning and strong team performance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, culturally aware care in a high-volume ED
- Maintain patient experience standards (AIDET, respectful communication, regular updates) to keep families informed
- Float across ED areas as needed while maintaining unit-specific policies and safety standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of ER experience (must-have)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications prior to start
- PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS required prior to start or on hire as specified; ENPC within 90 days of hire
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, Level II trauma / comprehensive stroke center environment
- Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Willingness to float within all sections of the ED
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license (Associate's degree or BSN acceptable; BSN preferred where applicable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Cerner electronic documentation
- Skilled in triage, emergency assessment, and rapid decision-making
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitors
- Excellent communication and patient-experience skills (AIDET, culturally sensitive care)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-acuity, high-volume settings and adapt to changing priorities
- Mentoring and coaching skills to support colleagues and improve unit performance
