Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (night), with rotating weekends; may include mixed day/night/weekend coverage as needed (may float to NICU/Nursery or OB when qualified)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality pediatric critical care at the bedside for PICU patients
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support, ensuring safe ventilator settings and weaning
- Titrate critical drips (sedation, vasoactive agents, paralytics) with precision and clinical judgment
- Perform and assist with critical procedures including intubation, extubation, spinal taps, and port access
- Provide continuous monitoring including EKG/EEG/telemetry and respond rapidly to changes in condition
- Coordinate and support sedated MRIs and other diagnostic procedures safely
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech/Pyxis and communicate effectively during handoffs
Qualifications
- Current RN license (state licensure required)
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric ICU nursing experience (required)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (required)
- Experience with ventilator management, intubation/extubation, and titration of critical drips
- Familiarity with Meditech and Pyxis strongly preferred
- Comfort working 1:1–1:2 patient ratios in a fast-paced critical care environment
- Able to float to NICU, Nursery, or OB if qualified and asked
- Organized, able to prioritize, and a self-starter who works well in a small team
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric critical care principles and age-appropriate assessment
- Ventilator management and respiratory support (BiPAP, high flow O2, ventilators)
- Alaris IV pump operation and safe medication administration
- Titration and monitoring of sedation, vasoactive, and paralytic drips
- Intubation/Extubation procedures and post-procedure care
- Telemetry, EKG/EEG recognition, and rapid response to arrhythmias
- Electronic medical record proficiency (Meditech) and Pyxis medication systems
- Ability to manage sedated imaging (e.g., MRI) and coordinate multidisciplinary care
