Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment to perform diagnostic computed tomography studies with precision and care
- Position patients and select appropriate protocols to ensure high-quality images
- Monitor patients for safety, including contrast reactions and radiation protection measures
- Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to facilitate timely diagnoses
- Maintain accurate imaging records and manage studies in PACS and reporting systems
- Perform routine quality assurance and basic equipment checks to maintain imaging standards
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education and support throughout the exam process
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience (as stated in the posting)
- Certification in radiologic technology (ARRT or equivalent) preferred or required by facility
- Current Florida state licensure or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Strong patient-care skills and proven ability to work in a fast-paced imaging department
Education
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology or CT program (Associate degree often preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of CT imaging protocols and cross-sectional anatomy
- Proficiency with PACS, EMR systems, and image documentation
- Solid understanding of radiation safety principles and ALARA practices
- Experience with IV contrast administration and monitoring
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with interdisciplinary staff
