Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med-Surg patients, prioritizing safety and outcomes
• Manage ventilators and respiratory therapies, including setup and monitoring of PB 840 ventilators
• Perform and interpret ABGs and collaborate on respiratory and critical care interventions
• Assist with intubations and provide hands-on support during acute events
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on treatments, recovery expectations and discharge planning
• Collaborate closely with Respiratory Therapy, ICU and NICU teams when cross-covering or transferring patients

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado (or eligible for state licensure)
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (Med-Surg or related acute care preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Experience with ventilator management and ABG analysis
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Preferred: NRP and PALS certifications, NICU or ICU experience
• Team-player attitude with strong communication and collaboration skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN license required; relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surg clinical assessment and patient management skills
• Hands-on experience with ventilator setup, troubleshooting and ventilator liberation
• Ability to perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABG)
• Familiarity with PB 840 ventilators and respiratory therapy modalities
• Competence using Meditech for charting, orders and care coordination
• Excellent teamwork, delegation and patient/family education skills
