Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care for a variety of surgical cases, ensuring patient safety and excellent outcomes
• Scrub, circulate, or assist in procedures across service lines including general, GYN, robotics, neuro, ortho, plastics, urology, burn, and trauma
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to coordinate timely, high-quality care
• Adhere to unit policies, maintain sterile technique, and promote a culture of patient-centered care
• Float to other departments as needed and support unit staffing needs with flexibility and professionalism

Qualifications

• Active RN license for the state of North Carolina (or appropriate compact licensure)
• Minimum 2 years of operating room/surgical nursing experience
• Demonstrated broad surgical knowledge across multiple specialties listed in the posting
• Comfortable with variable schedules and responding to on-call requirements
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced perioperative environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Broad surgical knowledge: general surgery, gynecology, robotics, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, burn, and trauma
• Strong perioperative skills including scrub and circulating roles
• Experience using Cerner for patient documentation and charting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in the OR setting
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain patient safety under pressure
