Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing abilities and create individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapy interventions to improve communication and swallowing function
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and therapists to coordinate holistic patient care
• Document assessments, treatment progress and discharge summaries accurately and on time
• Educate patients, families and caregivers with practical strategies to support carryover
• Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical insights to optimize outcomes
• Maintain professional licensure, certifications and adherence to facility policies

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as an SLP (as indicated in the job posting)
• Active or eligible Missouri SLP license (state licensure required for practice)
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent clinical degree
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or eligibility for certification where applicable
• Strong clinical reasoning, assessment and treatment planning skills
• Comfortable working in an acute care/hospital environment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in speech, language, cognitive-communication and dysphagia assessment
• Skilled in creating and implementing individualized treatment plans
• Familiarity with hospital documentation systems and regulatory standards
• Strong interpersonal and education skills for working with patients and families
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritize patient needs efficiently
