Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize ventilator care for critically and acutely ill patients using Draeger and other ventilators
- Perform ABGs, titrate oxygen therapy, and conduct oximetry studies to guide clinical decisions
- Set up and monitor CPAP/BiPAP therapy and deliver aerosol treatments with confidence
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust respiratory care plans
- Provide patient and family education on respiratory therapies and equipment use
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes
- Serve as a reliable resource during night shifts, ensuring continuity of care and escalation when needed
Qualifications
- Missouri license required (active and in good standing)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- BLS required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience (per job listing)
- PALS, ACLS, NRP, or ACCS preferred (have any of these? you’ll be prioritized)
- Comfortable documenting in Meditech and working with Draeger ventilators (V60, EV300, V30) and HHFNC devices
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ventilator management skills and familiarity with Draeger systems
- Proficient with CPAP, BiPAP, aerosol treatments, and oxygen therapy
- Skilled in performing and interpreting ABGs and oximetry studies
- Experience documenting in Meditech or similar EMR systems
- Clear communication and teamwork across disciplines during night shift care
- Ability to adapt to varied patient ratios and fast-paced unit needs
