Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot ventilators to ensure safe, effective respiratory support
- Administer oxygen therapy and nebulized medications with precision and compassion
- Assess patients’ respiratory status and adjust care plans in collaboration with the team
- Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and assist with airway management
- Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment to meet safety and infection-control standards
- Document patient care and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Educate patients and families on breathing treatments, home equipment use, and follow-up care
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other clinicians to deliver coordinated critical care
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (as stated)
- NRP and PALS certifications are a plus for pediatric roles
- Experience in ICU, NICU or PICU settings preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and troubleshooting
- Oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatment expertise
- Critical care and acute respiratory assessment skills
- Familiarity with EMR documentation and clinical workflows
- Strong teamwork, communication, and emergency response abilities
- Infection control and equipment sterilization practices
