Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in a 20-bed Medical ICU unit
• Manage ventilators and titrate IV drips safely and effectively
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures such as intubation, central line care, tracheostomy management and chest tube management
• Document patient care accurately using EMR - Expanse and communicate changes in condition clearly
• Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Baxter pumps
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Advocate for patients and families while maintaining a calm, professional bedside presence

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (state of practice) and eligible for travel assignments
• Minimum 1 year of Medical ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management and IV drip titration
• Familiarity with EMR systems (experience with Expanse preferred) and Baxter pumps
• Comfort performing/assisting with intubation, central lines, tracheostomy and chest tube care
• Team-player attitude, flexibility, and strong communication skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care and ICU nursing best practices
• Ventilator management and respiratory care
• IV drip titration and infusion pump management (Baxter pumps)
• Advanced airway management and post-procedure care
• Central line and tracheostomy care, chest tube management
• Proficient documentation in EMR (Expanse) and clear interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to manage 2:1 patient ratios (3:1 low acuity) and adapt to fast-paced situations
