Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality rehabilitation nursing care that supports patient recovery and independence
• Monitor telemetry and act on clinical changes to keep patients safe
• Administer IV medications and blood products per facility policy
• Perform lab draws, head-to-toe assessments, and accurate clinical documentation in Meditech Magic
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized rehab plans
• Educate patients and families about care plans, progress, and discharge goals
• Use and follow safe patient handling techniques including patient lifts
• Deliver breathing treatments and inhaler administration as ordered

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (Kansas licensure or compact RN acceptable) — required for this position
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (post-licensure experience preferred)
• BLS certification — required
• Telemetry competency / ability to read telemetry — required
• IV certification (or demonstrated IV competency) — required
• CRRN certification — preferred
• ACLS certification — preferred or able to obtain per facility timelines
• Experience with med/surg skills in a post-acute/rehab setting and comfort with blood administration

Knowledge & Skills

• Rehabilitation nursing principles and post-acute care workflows
• Meditech Magic EMR documentation and electronic charting
• Telemetry monitoring and basic dysrhythmia recognition
• IV therapy, blood administration, and safe medication administration practices
• Proficiency with point-of-care devices such as iSTAT and glucometer
• Skilled in patient lifts, safe transfer techniques, and mobility assistance
• Strong patient/family education and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
