Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered rehabilitation care as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and monitor patients using telemetry
• Administer IV medications and blood products safely and according to policy
• Draw labs promptly and accurately, and act on results in collaboration with providers
• Educate patients and families on individualized rehabilitation plans and self-care
• Document care and interventions clearly in the EMR (Meditech Magic)
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to quality improvement efforts on the unit

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state license or compact RN privileges recommended)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (post-grad experience preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• IV certification or demonstrated IV therapy competency (required)
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry monitors
• Experience with rehabilitation nursing or post-acute care preferred
• CRRN certification (preferred)
• ACLS certification preferred (ACLS within 90 days noted as desirable)
• Familiarity with Meditech Magic or similar EMR systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
• IV therapy and blood administration
• Skilled lab draws and specimen handling
• Rehabilitation nursing principles and care-plan collaboration
• Patient and family education focused on functional recovery
• Use of EMR (Meditech Magic) and common bedside devices (iSTAT, glucometer)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
• Knowledge of quality indicator scoring in post-acute settings (nice to have)
