Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons as a primary Surgical First Assist across specialties including GYN, Urology, Spine, Ortho trauma, Breast, C-sections, robotics, vascular, and endovascular procedures
- Maintain strict sterile technique and perioperative care standards to ensure patient safety
- Operate and support robotic platforms (Da Vinci) and assist in the endovascular suite when needed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver polished, patient-centered care
- Float to scrub tech duties as needed, demonstrating versatility and teamwork
- Contribute to positive patient experiences through clear communication and professional bedside manner
Qualifications
- CSFA certification required
- New Hampshire Medical Tech License required for CSFA applicants (note: NH license required for CSFA, not CRNFA)
- BLS certification required
- CST/ORT background or equivalent perioperative experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant surgical assisting or OR experience
- Advanced skills with CSFA or CRNFA preferred; robotic experience a strong plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong command of perioperative care and sterile technique
- Experience with robotic surgery (Da Vinci) and endovascular procedures
- Comfortable across a broad case mix: GYN, Urology, Spine, Ortho trauma, Breast, C-sections, vascular
- Familiarity with Sunrise documentation system (though this role requires no documentation)
- Ability to function as both Surgical First Assist and scrub tech when needed
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient-focused interpersonal skills
