Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; rotating schedule that includes 2 weekends per schedule (no on-call required)

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care for high-acuity patients using ESI triage and evidence-based practice
- Perform critical procedures such as IV insertion, EKG acquisition, splinting, wound care, and medication administration
- Support moderate sedation and assist with intubation, rapid sequence intubation, CPR and full code response when needed
- Recognize and activate cardiac alert, STEMI, stroke and sepsis protocols to improve patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Meditech EMR and communicate effectively across the care team
- Coordinate patient transport and handoffs to higher levels of care, ensuring safe transitions
- Implement infection control and isolation protocols to protect patients and staff
- Use strong critical thinking to triage, prioritize and reassess patients in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (able to work in Texas; compact privilege helpful) — current RN status required
- Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (TNCC preferred; ENPC and CPI required or highly desired)
- Demonstrated experience with trauma care, cardiac alerts, STEMI, stroke and sepsis management
- Strong triage skills using ESI and excellent critical thinking under pressure
- Reliable, team-oriented, punctual and compassionate with excellent patient-centered communication
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Meditech electronic health records and timely documentation practices
- ESI triage methodology and rapid prioritization skills
- Trauma assessment and stabilization, including splinting and wound care
- Advanced cardiac and respiratory support skills: EKG recognition, ACLS algorithms, intubation assistance
- Moderate sedation protocols and patient monitoring
- Infection control, isolation procedures and safe patient transport coordination
- Strong situational awareness, teamwork and communication in emergency settings
