Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, precise radiation treatments (external beam and internal) including IMRT, VMAT, SRT, 3D-CRT, IGRT and proton therapy
- Perform brachytherapy, permanent implant procedures and specialized treatments as indicated
- Operate and troubleshoot treatment and imaging equipment such as TruBeam, Vision RT, CT scanners, Aria and EPIC
- Document treatments and chart in EPIC/Aria accurately and timely to support continuity of care
- Manage a busy caseload (average ~34 patients/day) while maintaining high standards of patient safety and compassion
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, physics, nursing and support staff to coordinate patient care
- Educate and support patients and families throughout treatment — provide clear explanations and emotional support
- Participate in unit orientation and learning activities to stay current with protocols and technologies
Qualifications
- Certified Radiation Therapist — ARRT required (Certified Radiation Therapist ARRT (T) preferred/required per posting)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- 1–3 years of radiation therapy experience (posting specifies 1+ years)
- Experience with treatment platforms and software such as TruBeam, Vision RT, Aria and EPIC
- Comfortable performing IMRT/IGRT/VMAT/3D-CRT and brachytherapy procedures
- Willing/able to be in-state for the orientation week and provide a valid driver's license (60-mile radius requirement; DL must be submitted)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge & Skills
- External beam therapy (EBRT) and internal radiation therapy (IRT) techniques
- IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, SRT, 3D-CRT and proton therapy principles and treatment delivery
- Brachytherapy and permanent implant procedures
- Operation of TruBeam, Vision RT, CT imaging and treatment planning interfaces
- Aria and EPIC charting and electronic medical record workflows
- Patient positioning, immobilization and image-guided setup
- Radiation safety, QA fundamentals and documentation best practices
