Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and instruments, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety at all times
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently to keep procedures flowing
Assist with room turnover, instrument counts, and documentation to support accurate, timely care
Participate in on-call duties when scheduled, responding promptly and professionally
Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia to uphold the highest standards of acute care
Contribute to a positive, team-first environment that prioritizes patient outcomes

Qualifications

BLS certification (required)
Completion of CAAHEP, ABHES & CST program (as stated)
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or equivalent
Experience in an acute care OR environment is highly valued (specific years not stated)
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

Completed CAAHEP, ABHES & CST Program

Knowledge & Skills

Operating room instrumentation and setup
Aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance
Patient safety practices and surgical counts
Strong communication and teamwork in high-paced settings
Familiarity with acute care workflows and perioperative procedures
Ability to stay organized during turnovers and procedures
