Shift Type: Nights, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, 12-hour night shifts; rotating schedule with every-other-weekend requirement and minimum holiday coverage (at least 2 holidays during the contract)

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality PCU/stepdown nursing care to adult patients, including cardiac, dialysis, vascular, respiratory, sepsis, stroke, and post-procedure patients
- Assess and interpret telemetry strips and monitor patient rhythms to detect and respond to changes quickly
- Manage and titrate IV drips (heparin, nitro, dopamine, Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin) safely and per protocol
- Maintain competency in arterial line management and perform necessary monitoring and assessments
- Manage high-flow oxygen therapy and troubleshoot respiratory support devices in collaboration with RT
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC charting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support charge nurses, techs, and ancillary services to optimize patient outcomes
- Use safe patient handling equipment (overhead and portable lifts) and devices like vein finders and bladder scanners
- Provide culturally sensitive care, communicating effectively with diverse populations including Hispanic and Somalian patients
- Contribute to a positive patient experience through clear communication about medications and care plans
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to submit) and ability to meet facility licensing requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (relevant PCU/stepdown or acute care experience preferred)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Competency with arterial lines and drip titration required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system
- Driver's license required at time of submittal (used for radius verification)
- Ability to pass orientation pass/fail exam (open book) with a 90% score
- Willingness to float to MedSurg or ICU as needed; flexible, team-focused attitude
- Compliance with facility policies (e.g., artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas)
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
- IV drip titration and vasoactive medication management
- Arterial line monitoring and troubleshooting
- High-flow oxygen management and basic respiratory support troubleshooting
- EPIC charting and electronic documentation best practices
- Safe patient handling and lift equipment operation
- Culturally competent communication with diverse patient populations
- Strong teamwork, clinical judgment, and effective patient/family communication
