Shift Type: Night, 4x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM), typically 4 nights per week; includes every-other-weekend coverage and required holiday shifts. Night coverage with floating between like units as needed.
Hours per Week: 48
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and manage ventilator care and airway support for critically ill adults and children
- Provide hands-on respiratory therapy interventions in the ICU setting with precision and compassion
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses clearly and promptly in Epic
- Float between like units as needed to support staffing and patient care demands
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, code situations, and rapid changes in patient condition
- Support a teaching hospital environment by participating in education and orientation when requested
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Active Respiratory Therapist license for practice (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, with ICU experience preferred
- Comfortable and experienced caring for both pediatric and adult ICU patients
- Proficiency with Epic charting or similar electronic medical record systems
- Willingness to work nights, every-other-weekend, and required holidays
- Ability to float within scope to support different but similar units
- Flu vaccine required per facility policy, with medical or religious exemptions allowed
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (required or equivalent completion)
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and advanced airway techniques
- Critical care monitoring and interpretation of blood gases
- Pediatric and adult ICU respiratory care principles
- Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting workflows
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork in interdisciplinary settings
- Comfortable with rapid response and emergency procedures
- Adaptability to float between like units and cover varying patient populations
