Shift Type: 3x12-hour Night shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night) OR 3x12-hour Day shifts per week, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Day); self-schedule requests accepted prior to finalizing; weekends and exact days variable based on unit needs
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate care to adults and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematologic conditions
- Administer chemotherapy and manage body fluid handling protocols safely and precisely
- Perform IV therapy, start and maintain IVs, and administer blood and blood products
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to detect and escalate clinical changes promptly
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, ports, and perform central line blood draws with sterile technique
- Apply infection prevention and patient falls prevention protocols consistently
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, PT, social services, and rapid response teams
- Document care accurately in Epic and communicate abnormal lab values and patient status to the team
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required with at least 1 year of recent hematology/oncology specialty experience within the past 3 years
- Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemo Certification
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with Medical-Surgical Telemetry and telemetry interpretation, including dysrhythmia recognition
- Competence in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC management
- Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record systems

- Oncology nursing and hematology care for acute leukemia populations
- Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- IV therapy, starting IVs, and central/peripheral line care
- Blood product administration and transfusion safety
- Infection prevention practices and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
- Rapid Response Team activation and escalation processes
- Feeding tube care and management, and recognition of oncologic emergencies
