Shift Type: 3x12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Schedule includes every-other-weekend coverage and floating within the skillset. 4x12 option available upon request.

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care for neonates, infants, and pediatric patients on a med-surg unit
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy, central lines, and peripheral lines with attention to safety and aseptic technique
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate interventions
- Support feeding needs including bottle, breastfeeding education, and gavage feedings
- Care for patients with hyperbilirubinemia and endocrine/metabolic needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and radiology to coordinate care
- Document care accurately and efficiently using Epic
- Apply isolation precautions and PPE consistently to protect patients and staff
- Monitor chemotherapy patients when appropriate and follow oncology safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license for practice in California required (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in pediatric med-surg or pediatric specialty care
- BLS and PALS certifications preferred
- Oncology certification preferred for roles monitoring chemotherapy patients
- Comfortable working night shifts and floating within a pediatric skillset
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and dysrhythmia recognition
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient charting in Epic
- Strong pediatric assessment and developmental care skills
- IV therapy and phlebotomy expertise
- Central line and peripheral line care and management
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Feeding methods knowledge: bottle, breast, and gavage
- Familiarity with hyperbilirubinemia management and pediatric airway/O2 protocols
- Infection control and isolation precautions best practices
- Ability to monitor chemotherapy patients is a plus
