Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Apply, modify and remove casts and splints with precision and care
- Operate cast saws and perform blade changes, trimming, univalving and wedging
- Fit braces and immobilizers and provide crutch/cane fitting with gait training
- Assist with pin insertions, sterile dressing techniques and suture removal
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education on immobilization and home safety
- Document procedures and patient interactions accurately in EPIC
- Float between Tarzana and Mission Hills clinics as needed to ensure coverage
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and rehab staff to deliver excellent outpatient care
Qualifications
- NBCOT Orthopedic Technician Certification (OTC) required
- Minimum 2 years of orthopedic tech or relevant outpatient experience
- Proven experience with orthopedic casting, splinting and cast saw skills
- Proficient charting experience in EPIC
- Comfortable assisting with pin insertions and sterile procedures
- Ability to float between Tarzana and Mission Hills clinic locations
- Pending state license not accepted; active certification required
- Orientation: 40 hours; first-time travelers accepted; locals welcome
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- NBCOT Orthopedic Technician Certification (OTC) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Orthopedic casting and splinting techniques (short/long arm/leg, thumb spica, sugar tong, gauntlets)
- Cast modification skills: trim, univalve, wedge, window and blade replacement
- Bracing and immobilizer application and adjustments
- Crutch and cane fitting plus gait training and patient education
- Sterile dressing techniques, suture removal and assistance with debridements
- Experience assisting with pin insertions and related procedures
- EPIC charting and outpatient clinic workflow familiarity
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced clinic
