Shift Type: Varied days (self-scheduled, including weekends), 3x12-hour day shifts, 07:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Day); may float to nights and other step-down/PCU units as needed

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality progressive care nursing for PCU/step-down patients, managing a typical ratio of about 1:3-4
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
- Perform and maintain IV therapy, start IVs, manage arterial and central lines, and assist with PICC line care
- Administer blood products and manage BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and other respiratory supports
- Support procedural sedation monitoring and follow heparin and insulin protocols as required
- Respond effectively with Rapid Response/Code teams and collaborate with interdisciplinary partners like respiratory therapy and pharmacy
- Document patient care clearly and efficiently in EPIC to maintain excellent continuity and safety
- Float to equivalent or lower acuity units and other campuses when needed to meet patient care demands
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state authorization to practice required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; solid PCU/step-down experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
- Demonstrated telemetry experience and comfort with cardiac monitoring
- Proven skill with IV starts, arterial/central line care, blood product administration, and tracheostomy care
- EPIC charting experience required
- Ability and willingness to float to other units and campuses as needed
- Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment in high-acuity settings
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line and central line management
- Blood product administration and transfusion safety
- Respiratory support: BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care
- Familiarity with heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, and titration of insulin drips
- PICC line management and peripheral line care
- Feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis patient management, and wound care
- Use of Rapid Response/Code teams and emergency response procedures
- Proficient EPIC documentation and electronic charting workflows
- Infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE best practices
