Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Day shift, 5x8). On-call expectations: Weekday call 4:00 PM - 7:30 AM (twice a week during two weeks each month). Weekend call: Friday 4:00 PM - Monday 7:30 AM (one weekend per month); every third weekend; no call the week after a weekend call. Day shift primary with rotating on-call and weekend coverage; 30-minute callback for STEMIs, IR callback varies by procedure.

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist providers during diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures — scrub and circulate with confidence
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure instruments and supplies are ready for each case
- Perform accurate patient monitoring and telemetry during procedures and recovery
- Place EKG leads and assist with monitoring for cardiac and vascular procedures
- Support complex procedures including kyphoplasties, biopsies, vascular interventions, and device implants
- Operate and troubleshoot specialty equipment (IVUS/iFR, AngioJet, Pneumbra, IABP, Impella, ultrasound systems) with attention to safety
- Collaborate with a three-person on-call team (minimum one RN) to respond to urgent/emergent cases
- Document procedural details and communicate clearly with team members and providers
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by providing calm, professional procedural support
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience (this unit is ~90% IR)
- Current ACLS and BCLS (BLS) certifications required
- ARRT or RCIS certification required (ARRT Advanced, RCES, or RCIS with cath/med experience preferred)
- Experience scrubbing and circulating in IR/Cath lab environments and working with telemetry
- Comfortable with EKG lead placement and advanced procedural workflows
- Able to participate in on-call rotations, including weekday and weekend coverage
- Flu vaccine required per facility policy (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
- Traveler experience not required — locals and travelers welcomed
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures
- Strong sterile technique and procedural asepsis
- Telemetry monitoring and accurate patient observation skills
- Familiarity with specialty devices and equipment: IVUS, iFR, AngioJet, Pneumbra, EKOS, IABP, Impella, ultrasound systems
- Ability to assist with a broad range of procedures: stent placement, biopsies, kyphoplasties, thoracentesis, biliary drainage and more
- Effective teamwork and clear communication during high-acuity cases
- Quick decision-making under urgent/emergent conditions and reliable callback responsiveness
