Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe
• Manage dysrhythmias and initiate appropriate interventions in coordination with the team
• Provide post-procedure cardiac care including pre/post cardiac cath and post angiogram monitoring
• Perform IV therapy, manage central lines and PICCs, and start/maintain peripheral IVs
• Care for respiratory needs including tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Participate on Rapid Response and Code teams to respond to emergencies effectively
• Document clear, timely patient care in Epic and communicate changes to interdisciplinary partners
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge needs with compassion

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Telemetry experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience, including remote and on-unit monitoring
• Comfortable floating within scope to like units as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Able to work the required night schedule and every-other-weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Post-cardiac procedure care including TR band and pacemaker management
• IV therapy, central line and PICC management, blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills: tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tube management
• ABG interpretation and oxygen therapy management
• Familiarity with Epic charting and strong documentation practices
• Ability to respond effectively on Rapid Response/Code teams
• Teamwork, patient education, and strong clinical judgment in acute care
